Dust ControlHanil Cement has set Environment management as its top priority management goal, therefore it has replaced the existing large-scale electrostatic precipitator with the high-tech bad house through continuous facility investment.
Having installed over 240 of the latest precipitator facilities on the business premises, Hanil Cement is collecting dust discharged into the air 24 hours a day.

Nitrogen Oxide Management

1. Introduction of “SNCR and Low-NOx Burners” for Nitrogen Oxide Reduction Cement kilns operate at a high temperature of 1,450°C. While dioxins are decomposed during high-temperature operation, nitrogen oxides can also be generated due to the high temperature. To reduce nitrogen oxide emissions, we are minimizing emissions through efforts such as introducing SNCR systems and low-NOx burners, which are nitrogen oxide reduction facilities.

2. Nitrogen Oxide Control System SNCR (Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction) is a facility used to reduce nitrogen oxides emitted from cement kilns and is installed and operated for environmentally friendly cement production. We will continue to review the advancement of reduction facilities in line with the trend toward stricter emission standards.

Investment to Environment FacilitiesHanil Cement is preferentially carrying out environment management in order to hand down a cleaner nature to our future generations. The amount of investment made by Hanil Cement since 1990 reaches the level of approximately KRW 55 billion. Equipped with large-scaled precipitator facilities and outstanding Environment preservation system, Hanil Cement is dedicating its efforts at all times to be the leader of Environment management, such as creating green zones and designing closed urban-type plants, etc.

< 1 Company, 1 Mountain and 1 River Campaign >Hanil Cement love for the environment is being shared with local communities. Through joint effort with local communities, Hanil Cement is carrying out activities to purify the waterways of the Maepo and Andong Streams ocated near the factory as well as Environment purification activities in the National Park of Mt. Sobaek.

< Tree Planting Campaign >Hanil Cement conducts tree planting campaign each year. The trees planted each year have now formed a beautiful forest. Also, Hanil Cement has created a garden called udeokwon inside the factory to provide a space of rest and relaxation.
